Cornerstone Capital Group hires Tanya Khotin as Head of Institutional Business Development, marking the company’s continued efforts to align its products and services with institutional investors.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 04, 2014
Cornerstone Capital Inc. announced today the addition of Tanya Khotin, formerly with the Hugo Neu Corporation and UBS Investment Bank, to its senior leadership team, effective immediately. In her new role, Tanya will serve as Head of Institutional Business Development.
“We’re delighted to have Tanya on board and are excited to capitalize on her extensive experience across the global capital markets as well as her focus on sustainable finance,” said Erika Karp, Founder and CEO of Cornerstone Capital.
“By expanding our team to include senior professionals who can speak the language of institutional investors in the public markets, as well that of private equity investors in the impact investing space, we’re now in a strong position to meet the growing market demand for professionally managed and direct sustainable investing solutions across asset classes.”
Tanya’s career spans working with global institutions as well as boutique firms and family offices, in a management consulting capacity, as a broker, as a portfolio manager and business unit head.
Tanya has most recently served as Portfolio Manager at the Hugo Neu Corporation, a privately held B-Corp(c) Certified, woman-owned company, specializing in recycling and industrial real estate. Prior to Hugo, Tanya spent 13 years at UBS Investment Bank as Managing Director and Head of Russian Equities in Moscow. She had previously served as the UBS Head of Emerging Markets Sales where she was top-ranked with the leading US institutional investors.
“I am honored to join Cornerstone Capital Group and the unique set of professionals on the staff, the Board and the Global Advisory Council,” said Ms. Khotin. “It is a natural extension of my career, building on my roots in global capital markets at UBS as well as on my environmental and social responsibility work at Hugo Neu.”
Ms. Khotin, who will based in New York City, is a native of Moscow, received her BA from University of California at Berkeley, and her MBA from Columbia Business School. Tanya’s experience in the capital markets and management consulting started at Bain & Company in Moscow, working on Russia’s large-scale privatization process in the early 1990s which led to the launch of Russia’s stock exchanges. Tanya and her husband, Mark Izeman, a senior attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), have two sons and live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Looking to the future, Cornerstone Capital Group believes that the global macroeconomic imperatives of our day demand the investment power of the private sector. Investing with a systematic analysis of these environmental, social and governance issues is essential to properly understand risk-adjusted returns. This investment discipline will become further institutionalized and accelerated as companies and the analysts who follow them become increasingly focused on complex, business-defining challenges.
“Being mindful investors, without compromising on our expected financial results, will open new doors for Cornerstone Capital, enabling us to develop new business and reach our growth targets as a company. We’re eager to seize the opportunities ahead,” said Erika Karp.
