About: Janet L. Pegg, CPA is the Head of Valuation and Accounting at Cornerstone Capital Group. Cornerstone is focused on research and capital introductions related to environmental, social and governance performance. Janet has spent the past thirty years specializing in accounting and taxation issues applied to institutional investment analysis. Ms. Pegg frequently lectures to institutional clients, explaining and interpreting the accounting policies and financial reporting of companies in which they invest. She has authorized numerous publications, including primers on acquisition accounting, net operating loss carryforwards and spin-offs. She focuses on U.S. and international GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and U.S. Federal taxation. She has been voted to the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team.
Janet was previously a Managing Director and accounting analyst in the Strategy & Valuation group at UBS Investment Bank from 2009 to 2013. Previously, Ms. Pegg was with Encima Global LLC as their accounting and taxation analyst. Prior to Encima, Janet spent 25 years as a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where she was a top rated accounting analyst.
She currently participates in the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board’s Advisory Council, as well as the U.S. Corporate Reporting Users Forum. She served as a founding member of the FASB’s Investors Advisory Committee and sat on the FASB’s Financial Accounting Standards Board. A CPA formerly with Deloitte and Touche, Ms. Pegg obtained an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a B. A. in Economics from Rutgers University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
