NEW YORK — Cornerstone Capital Inc. announced today the addition of Phil Kirshman, CFA, CFP© , former Account Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at UBS Institutional Consulting, to its leadership team, effective immediately.
In his new role, Phil serves as Chief Investment Officer of Cornerstone Capital Investment Management, with responsibility for overseeing the Firm’s Private Client Wealth Management investment strategies. “We’re delighted to have Phil on board and are excited to capitalize on the market growth potential afforded by his joining our leadership team,” said Erika Karp, founder and CEO of Cornerstone Capital. “By expanding our service offerings to include private wealth management, with a focus on institutional clients, family offices and others, we’re now in a strong position to meet the growing market demand for professionally managed and direct sustainable investing solutions across all asset classes. In commenting on his new career decision, Phil said, “I am honored to join Cornerstone Capital Group and the amazing team being assembled there to help address the most pressing issues of our time through an investment perspective. We expect to deliver to our clients the most robust, well-rounded investment process and suite of solutions available in the marketplace today. It’s a tremendous opportunity for us to leverage our strength and resources as investors towards a more sustainable future for all of us. I’m thrilled to be able to play a small part in that.”
Looking to the future, Cornerstone Capital Group believes that the global macroeconomic imperatives of our day demand the investment power of the private sector. Investing with a systematic analysis of these environmental, social and governance issues is essential to properly understand risk-adjusted returns. This investment discipline will become further institutionalized and accelerated as companies and the analysts who follow them become increasingly focused on complex, business-defining challenges. “Being mindful investors, without compromising on our expected financial results, will open new doors for Cornerstone Capital, enabling us to develop new business and reach our growth targets as a company. We’re eager to seize the opportunities ahead,” said Erika Karp.
