James Fava is the Chief Sustainability Strategist at PE INTERNATIONAL. PE INTERNATIONAL’s mission is to help companies create value by enabling them to operate sustainably. Through its sustainability-as-a- service approach, companies are able to reduce their environment footprint, improve their social performance, & operationalize sustainability which contributes to brand enhancement, growing revenues, reducing costs, and managing risks.
Jim is the founder of the SETAC LCA Advisory Group which created the technical foundation for life cycle assessment as it is known today, headed the U.S. delegation in the development of ISO LCA standards, is co-founder and currently co-chair of the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative’s PMO, & served on the World Resources Institute (WRI) / World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Steering Committee for the Scope 3 and Product GHG Protocol efforts.
For nearly 20 years, he has directed (and founded) the Product Sustainability Roundtable which has become has been the premier community of practice in the product sustainability space.
Jim received a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He is regularly invited to speak at engagements throughout the world.
