Phil Kirshman is a seasoned investment management professional with in-depth knowledge of sustainable and impact investing. He served as the founding Chief Investment Officer for Cornerstone Capital Group, directing our investment policy planning, strategic asset allocation optimization, investment implementation and portfolio reporting processes. Prior to joining Cornerstone in 2014 and launching the firm’s Denver office, Phil was a senior partner on a UBS Institutional Consulting team based in Boulder, Colorado. Previously, he worked with clients as a portfolio manager with Wachovia Securities and Smith Barney, served in a business development capacity with Progressive Asset Management and was a commercial cargo ship sales broker with Jacq. Pierot Jr. and Sons.
Phil serves on the board and on the Executive Committee of the Calvert Foundation. He recently served on the board and Executive Committee of US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment, and was Treasurer of the US SIF Foundation. Phil also recently completed a term on the Advisory Council to the City of Denver Office of Sustainability, by appointment of the Mayor of Denver, and chaired its Finance Committee. He serves on the Advisory Council to Mile High Connects Capital Absorption Project, a public-private partnership supporting development of transit-oriented real estate development in the city of Denver. Recently, Phil was featured in Denver Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Impact Investing” in Colorado.
Phil is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Financial Planner®, and holds the Series 7, 24, 63 and 65 securities licenses. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz.
