2016 Investor Summit on Climate Risk

January 27, 2016

“Advancing the Clean Trillion”

Held biennially at the United Nations since 2003, the Investor Summit on Climate Risk is the preeminent forum for institutional investors to discuss the implications of climate change for capital markets and their portfolios. The 2016 event will convene investors, business leaders and others seeking to accelerate the shift to a clean energy future, and tackle the risks posed by climate change. Ceres, the United Nations Foundation, and the United Nations Office for Partnerships are co-hosting the Summit.

The Summit will be the first major event on climate change for investors and businesses following the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP21) in December in Paris.  The Summit is designed to sustain the momentum from Paris and catalyze further actions that investors, businesses and governments can take to:

  • Expand investment in clean energy to achieve the Clean Trillion goal of generating an additional $1 trillion per year in clean energy investment.
  • Understand carbon asset risk, consider portfolio decarbonization, and support economic development that is less reliant on fossil fuels.

Given that space is limited, participation is by invitation only.  For a full agenda and other details, visit the event site.
