“Travel Beyond Boundaries” is the theme of the 2016 programme, which will focus on how Travel & Tourism will respond to the biggest issues of the moment — migration, climate change, terrorism, security and border policies. The Global Summit celebrates 25 years of WTTC’s sector advocacy and brings together government officials and chief executives of the world’s leading Travel & Tourism businesses, to extend the boundaries of the sector and to debate the key issues of the day.

The WTTC promotes sustainable growth for the sector, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, drive exports and to generate prosperity. Its annual Global Summit brings together over 1,000 delegates to discuss the opportunities, challenges and issues facing the industry, In 2015, Travel & Tourism contributed US$7.8 trillion or 10% of global GDP, once all direct, indirect and induced impacts are taken into account. The sector will account for 284 million jobs, 9.5% of total employment, or one in eleven of all jobs on the planet.
